Take Those Shoes Off in the House!

January 9, 2018

We all have that friend who makes you take your shoes off in their home. It’s annoying, but there’s a good reason behind it. Wearing shoes in the house can track bacteria onto the carpet, as well as toxins and E. coli.

Why You Should Close the Toilet Lid Before you Flush!

February 24, 2018

When you flush a toilet, the swirling water that removes your waste from the bowl also mixes with small particles of that waste, shooting aerosolized feces into the air.

Why Hiring A Housekeeper was one of the Best Things I ever did!

May 8, 2018

There’s this notion—especially in today’s society and with social media—that moms have to do everything. They need to keep the kids fed, dressed, and alive, all while making sure they don’t get too much screen time and educating them at the same time (by playing, getting creative and artistic, and letting them run around); they need to keep the house clean from clutter, and everything dusted; they should always do all the laundry, and keep the floors clean; they need to wear makeup, get their hair done, put on clothes (other than yoga pants), and look “put together”; they need to have breakfast ready, lunches packed, and dinner on the table at night; they also need to schedule some “me” time from time to time, and by all means, they most certainly need to have enough energy at the end of the day to make the husband happy…if you know what I mean.

All of that, my friends, is not possible. (And if you say that it is, I say that you’re lying.)

The Dirtiest Job in the House

June 1,  2018

Your toilet brush has one of the dirtiest jobs in your home and cleans some of the most undesirable messes imaginable. Because of this, you want to ensure that what you’ve cleaned out of the toilet doesn’t linger on your toilet brush or it’s holder.

After you’ve cleaned your toilet, rest the brush between the bowl and the seat. Spray it generously with a disinfectant and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. Then, rinse the brush in the hottest water possible, spray it with disinfectant again and allow it to drip dry. You should never place a wet brush back into the brush holder as it can be a breeding ground for harmful bacteria.

You should also clean the brush holder by spraying it with disinfectant and letting it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse with hot water, dry with a rag and place disinfected toilet brush in the holder.

You should replace your toilet brush every 6 months.

Getting Ready for Spring

April 1, 2019

Spring has sprung and it’s time to get your house in order! Here are some must do’s as we enter this new season:

• Check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Replace batteries if necessary.

•Flip your ceiling fan switch so the blades rotate counter clockwise. As we FINALLY get warmer weather this will help to keep your house cool. But first things first! Be sure to dust those blades.

•Clean your gutters. Get all the leaves and debris out in preparation for Spring showers.

What are some things you do to get ready for Spring? We highly recommend a good cleaning. Let us help you with that by scheduling a Top to Bottom Cleaning.
